Description: An homage to Lloyd Bridge's Sea Hunt character, Nelson's, one of Terranea Resort's eight restaurants, offers some of the most breathtaking views in Southern California. The casual digs radiate a beachy feel with a rustic Palos Verdes flair. Grab a drink along the recycled wine bottle glass bar, or dine outside amongst fire pits and above the roaring ocean. The cuisine is California classic, including one of our favorites, the Fish 'n' Chips. Nelson's version entails beer battered halibut, malt vinegar, and those so often sought, yet rarely found crunchy, skinny fries.

Description: The Bazaar by José Andrés does nothing simply, and their version of fish 'n' chips is no different. In all likelihood, Andrés was not attempting to reinvent the oft beer battered treat, but the Buñuelos, a.k.a. codfish fritters, seem pretty close to ultra gourmet fish 'n' chips. Served with a honey alioli, the round fritters are golden brown, fried to perfection.

Description: Located on one of L.A.'s trendiest streets, the Library Alehouse serves one of the most unique fish 'n' chips dishes in town. Completely untraditional, the alehouse deep fries salmon in an Ankerstein batter, appropriate for a pub known for their 29 carefully chosen microbrews. They have a cod version too, but you can find that anywhere. Better still, the chips are curly fries, and the tartar sauce is homemade.
